We use account, website, and billing information to provide the service. Audits read public website pages. Paddle handles payments. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information.
1. Who we are and scope
SiteMagnetIQ is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It covers our marketing website, free tools, dashboard, website audits, reports, and affiliate program. You can reach us at [email protected].
When a business adds a website or invites team members, it is responsible for having authority to share that information. If your account belongs to an organization, its workspace administrators control your access and can see information associated with that workspace.
2. Information we collect
- Account and workspace information: your name, email address, password hash, account identifiers, role, workspace settings, and invitations. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your email, name, provider identifier, and available profile image.
- Website and audit information: website addresses you submit, settings, public page HTML and extracted content, metadata, links, crawl diagnostics, audit findings, scores, and generated reports. Public pages can contain personal information published by you or others.
- Billing information: your plan, subscription status, billing interval, customer and transaction identifiers, and payment events received from Paddle. Payment details are entered with Paddle; we do not receive your full card number or security code.
- Affiliate information: application details, referral identifiers, attributed signups and qualifying payments, commission records, payout references, and program messages. Affiliates see referral totals and commission activity; the affiliate dashboard does not display referred customers’ names or email addresses.
- Communications and technical information: information you send when contacting us, plus request, device, browser, IP address, and error information processed by our service and hosting providers to deliver and protect the service.
Our free text and markup tools process the values you enter in your browser. They do not upload those tool inputs to our audit API. Avoid placing passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information in website URLs or support messages.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, manage workspaces and team access, crawl submitted websites, generate audits and reports, process billing updates, administer referrals, answer requests, troubleshoot problems, and prevent misuse.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement for account and service delivery; legitimate interests in service reliability, security, and fraud prevention; legal obligations for required business records; and consent where required for optional activities. If you do not provide information needed for an account or purchase, we may be unable to provide that part of the service.
Audit scores evaluate website content and technical signals. We do not use those scores to make decisions about individuals that have legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Cookies and browser storage
The dashboard uses local storage to keep your authentication token, basic account details, and selected website between visits. It uses session storage to remember a pending plan selection during checkout. Signing out clears the dashboard’s saved account and website information.
The landing site stores your cookie choice in an essential cookie named sitemagnetiq_consent for 180 days. It records your choice, its date, and the consent version without a visitor identifier. We remember acceptance and rejection for the same period.
If you allow affiliate referrals and follow an affiliate link, a cookie named sitemagnetiq_referral can store an opaque referral token for up to 90 days. It connects an eligible signup to the referring affiliate and is cleared after a successful signup. A later affiliate visit can replace that token. Optional referral requests, cookies, and forwarding of referral identifiers to the app only run after you opt in.
You can accept, reject, or change the affiliate-referral choice using Cookie settings in the landing site footer. Withdrawing consent removes the referral cookie and stops further optional referral tracking. It does not undo information already collected lawfully. The landing site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. Accepting our terms does not grant cookie consent.
Paddle checkout and optional Google sign-in may use their own cookies or storage. Their policies explain those uses. Clearing browser storage signs you out but does not delete information already held in your account. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings.
6. Retention and security
We keep account and workspace data while needed to provide the service. We retain saved crawl data, audits, and reports so you can review results and history. You can request deletion by emailing us. Canceling a subscription stops future renewal; it does not itself delete your account.
When assessing how long to retain information, we consider whether the account remains in use, the purpose and sensitivity of the data, legal recordkeeping duties, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention. Some billing, security, and legal records may need to remain after an account is closed. Backup copies are removed through the applicable backup lifecycle rather than immediately.
We use measures such as password hashing and workspace access controls to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your account credentials private and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use the required transfer arrangements, such as approved contractual protections. Contact us for information about providers, processing locations, and safeguards relevant to your information.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of personal information, restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
You may also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including an unconditional right to object to direct marketing. We do not sell personal information or share it for behavioral advertising.
Send requests to [email protected], preferably from your account email. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. We respond within applicable legal deadlines and explain any lawful limits. For information controlled by your employer or client, contact the workspace owner; we can help direct your request. You do not need an active paid subscription to make a privacy request.
9. Children’s privacy
SiteMagnetIQ is a business service intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect account information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We update the date above when this policy changes. For material changes, we provide appropriate notice, such as an account notice or email, and obtain consent where required before using information for a new purpose.
